Hello friends, family, and whoever else who might have happened onto this site by accident!
Well, for a guy who still considers the walkie-talkie pretty awesome technology, this blog site is quite the accomplishment. First, I had to get past the name. Blog. What in the world is a "blog?" I still don't know but I guess we have one. Second, uploads and downloads mean nothing to me but I had to do them both to create this site. I figured if we got both pictures and words on this page you're reading, we'd consider the project a success. Well, by that simple measure I'd say we did it.
The intent of the page? We're still figuring that out but what Abby and I basically wanted to accomplish was the creation of a family web page - updated regularly - so we can all stay connected. And, at this year's Christmas party, I wanted to be able to say to someone, "So.....how's your blog?"
Now for the family "download." Let's start with the pictures I successfully "uploaded" into this site.
In the upper left you see a picture of our family taken October 2005. Kiersten is 6 1/2 and Madison is 4. They are both so fun to have in our lives and we thank the Lord every day for the blessing of children. We will be adding to our family this summer/ fall ( Lord willing) when we travel over to China to pick up our new adopted daughter. We are very excited to see who she will be! Her name is Payton and the only thing we know is she will be about 6-12 months old. And, our pooch is part of our family. Denali is our lab. He's just under two years old and at the time this picture was taken it had been about three months since he had last chewed up a household item; I believe it was our grill.

The picture in the center here is of Kiersten and Madison taken this summer on our trip to Winthrop (central Washington). We like to get out and hike, camp, and whatever else we can find to do. We are living a little more urban than we prefer right now so we make a lot of efforts to get out and away. This picture is by a little lake we were camped at.
By the way, have you picked up on the snazzy font color changes?
This picture is of our family on a little river on the Olympic penninsula. We headed over there last summer with some friends and had a great time. The girls were real troopers and hiked a few miles that day. All it took was a few peanut butter and jelly sandwhiches to keep them going! With just one or two falls that Scott and I took when we were goofing around, we only came close to death maybe a few times; much less than expected.
And lastly, check out this georgeous picture of the girls! Am I the luckiest dad in the world or what?! I'm also in big trouble! The pictures I keep in my
wallet tend to get mangled so for Father's Day Abby and the girls had these photos taken then laminated some for my walet. It was an awesome gift.
This has been just a taste of our life. These pictures represent the blessings God has bestowed on us this year. There are many, many more. He has provided in abundant ways - the most important of which are friends, family, and fellowship.
So, there you have it ---- our blog. Compared to other blogs out there it is pretty basic. In fact, I understand you can reply or enter blogs of your own on our site! And, we'd be terribly dissapointed if you didn't. But, don't expect any instruction from me. You'll have to snoop around and figure it out but if I can do it, so can you.

Disneyworld 2006.
Thank you, everyone, for being part of our lives and we look forward to hearing from you.

Spear clan--Five in all!! I'm making my second attempt to write. I don't think the first one went through. Just wanted to say thanks for letting us all be a part of your adventure. Malea is beautiful and we will be praying for a "healthy crew" as you begin your journey home. Can't wait to see you all. Love, Brooke S.
