Mothers day

Mothers day was a couple weeks ago but I felt compelled to write an entry today. Marc and the girls spoiled me by making me breakfast and a nice dinner! While they were cooking dinner, I actually sat on the couch and watched TV. I rarely sit down and do that so that was a treat, even though it felt kind of weird. The girls and their great dad made me these cement handprint stepping stones. They were in the shop making them and trying to be secretive about it. After they were done, Malea escaped and came running upstairs with cement powder all over her hands and said "Daddy, mess!" :)

I have been thinking and praying all day for Steven Curtis Chapman's family who tragically lost their 5 year old daughter yesterday in an accident. They have 3 little girls who are adopted from China along with 3 older biological kids. I guess because Malea is from China and they have been such advocates for adoption, I just feel so badly for them! It is a sober reminder to me that our kids are such blessings and life is short and can change so quickly. The next time I feel impatient with all the "mommy duties" may I choose to be thankful that my children are here and I have the privilege to be called mom.
