Chinese New Year Dinner

HAPPY NEW YEAR MALEA!!!

Kiersten did a great job setting the table on her own!

Even though Chinese New Year officially starts tomorrow, we decided to celebrate tonight as a family in honor of Malea's cultural heritage. Since I am not experienced in cooking Chinese food, I think we were all impressed with the results, hey it was edible and was mostly all eaten! We kept it pretty simple this year as far as the menu went but tried to include some of the foods that have meaning in the Chinese culture. I am putting some pics below of what we ate and some descriptions. First picture below is of Chinese pork buns. They are steamed usually for the traditional version, but we baked them instead.

Chow mein with long noodles for a long life and clementine oranges for health and wealth in the new year.
