Roninette Hoods

Well, it makes a fella proud when his girls pick up their bows and hit the woods in their quest to shoot bears, lions, dinosaurs, and any other kind of critter that dares step in their path. Though armed only with youth bows with rusty tips, the girls made harvests that would make even the most experienced professional hunter proud. Though the critters were steadfastly placed on an archery course and made of foam, the shots were deadly - perhaps even the shot to the nostril the brown bear endured would have stopped a mighty charge.

It was the first time the girls had shot and they did a great job! A local archery shop hosted a free youth shoot complete with complementary bows and free hot dogs. We walked twenty targets and each girl shot each one. We kept score and all three girls walked away with prizes; they did great. They had so much fun both Kiersten and Maddie would like to continue and make it a sport for themselves.

I have no problem with that; I shoot every day so it could easily be a fun thing to do together. And, they both say they want to hunt some day with a bow. We'll see about that. If that desire continues - great. Regardless, we'll start with a hobby and see where it goes.
