Slow Boat to China

If I may be completely honest, I would really rather take a boat to China than a plane. We will probably be heading over to pick up Elani in 2 months ( YEAH- so excited to meet her!) and I have been wondering why they don't have a really fast hydroplane type boat that could get us there in a reasonable amount of time? I know this sounds crazy to those who don't mind flying but to those of us who enjoy having our feet on the ground, maybe it is not so crazy.

I just watched a movie on the life story of Amelia Earhart and I feel the need to say that I think that lady may have had a screw loose.... I can't imagine desiring to fly a single engine airplane across the Atlantic in 19 hours.. I admire her adventerous spirit and like adventure, just not the kind that takes you way up in the air.

When the pilot says " We have reached our cruising altititude of 35,000 feet", I always think:
"Why am I up here at 35,000 feet? This does not feel like cruising! Cruising speaks to me of a slow, comfortable, relaxing drive along a sunny shoreline with palm trees swaying in the breeze."

I have prayed about this many times and my me fear is not as great as it used to be, thank you Lord. I don't think I will ever "enjoy" flying, it is only a means to an end and in this case the end is our daughter whom we are very anxious to meet!

I am planning on my faith overcoming my fear once again on this upcoming journey and I know it will be another great adventure. Ativan can be a girl's friend too if times become desperate! :)
