Show Hope for Orphans

This is Elani. She is 2 and a half years old. She is cute. She is lovable. She is curious. She is fast. She is psycho. She is hard to catch. She is extremely busy. And she is officially out of her shell! Though it's hard to imagine the possibility that the sweetie in this photo is capable of anything other than pure sweetness...we're beginning to think it may be possible! Elani is an adorable, and completely untrained, two year old that is definitely beginning to feel comfortable with things! Holy smokes is she busy. And we're busy hiding special toys and anything of value. All else will be grabbed, sucked on, and possibly destroyed. She is a blur'; we know where she is when she stops long enough to come into focus. Otherwise we're left chasing the streak. If we want to catch her we must lead her by at least 6 feet. And periodically she'll stop long enough to offer up a hug or a high five (her new trick) and our hearts melt and we're hooked. She's got it figured out.

Our lives have changed forever and we love it. It's a new world for Elani and she is determined to understand every ounce of it before month's end. At this rate she will exceed that goal. I just hope she takes a 15 hour siesta as we get from Beijing to Montana. Yes - that goes on your prayer list...thanks for asking!
