March 25th (Saturday)

Hi All!

Well today we got up and after breakfast we walked a couple blocks down to the harbor of Hong Kong and then walked along the Avenue of the Stars. This walk is like the one in Hollywood that has many famous people's handprints on it ( only these are all famous Chinese people), like Bruce Lee, etc.. Then, we window shopped for a while.

In the afternoon we took a long cable car ride up over the ocean and up a hill to see the world's largest seated Buddha and a monastary. That was very interesting. It was really educational for the girls because there were many people up there who were burning incense and making food offerings to the Buddha. Alot of that brought back memories of our time in Indonesia and seeing similiar things. The weather was very fogged in on the whole mountain so the visibility was actually not very good for pictures. We will include a couple though. One of the pictures is of a Buddhist monk burning incense. The cable car ride over the ocean was an intersesting experience too, it was windy so we were kind of blowing around and all I could think was that I sure hoped they kept up the maintenance on those things! But, we obviously came back safe and sound!:) Tonight we ate at the Outback Steakhouse, it was spicier than in the US, but good.

Tomorrow we have to be to breakfast early and then have an all day tour arranged; we only paid for 24 hours on the internet so we will probably not post tomorrow night. Our next post will be hopefully from Chongqing on Monday evening. Tuesday we get Malea.

Love
Abby
