Valentines Day

Valentines weekend started off with Madison and Marc going to a daddy/daughter dance that was sponsored by her school on Thursday night for 1st and 2nd graders. We hear they had a great time at the "Me and my Main Man" themed dance which included playing a get to know you game for fathers and daughters.

On Valentines morning we had our traditional pink breakfast with pink pancakes, strawberry milk (which most of us decided we don't like so we may change that next year), strawberries and pink m&ms. The girls love this tradition about as much as Christmas. This year I also ordered a new book called St Valentine from CBD which is really cool and tells the story of how Valentines day was started and it's Christian origins. Here they are at breakfast.

Right after breakfast we hopped in the car and drove to Bozeman just to spend the night at the C'mon Inn (we thought of you Millers and Roberts families!), let the kids swim in the pool and hot tubs and go to the Museum of the Rockies. Marc travels all over western Montana with his job but the girls and I haven't really seen much else of the state so it was fun to see another part of this beautiful state.

The girls loved staying at the C'mon Inn with all the indoor hotubs, Kiersten said it was her favorite hotel ever! The dinosaur and Native American exhibits at the museum were great, I never knew that Montana had so many fossils discovered here. Like any natural history museum, evolution was definitely at the forefront so we had a good discussion about that on the way home.

Such sweet memories! Mark and Abby also went to the daddy/daughter dance here in DuPont, and were reminiscing over their time with your Mark and Maddie there two years ago. We sure wish you guys still lived here!!

Yeah C'Mon Inn!!! We love that place and stay there every chance we get all through Montana and North Dakota! My kiddos will be very envious of yours when they hear you got to stay there and go swimming - which, for some reason, always seems to be our kids' favorite part of any vacation we go on :-)

Looks like you all had a great time. Glad you were able to go somewhere new for the weekend. I wish AK had more short and "fun" roadtrips like the lower 48! Cute girlies, they are looking a lot older!

I didn't know you did a "pink" breakfast. What a great idea! My girls would love that. I may have to start that next year . . . :-)
