Got studs?

Hello again!

Our family is quite familar to snow and ice. Being raised in AK the two are not much problem. But, that does not mean the trip to church was not a hair raiser this morning. I guess there was a reason no one was on our road this morning but, being the adventurers we are, we ventured out as others looked out their windows to see how we'd fare. The first grade was no problem - we only did two spins. It was not until today I noticed the first corner could stand to be banked a good deal more - I'll be sure to get onto the county about that. And, that fence on the outside edge is not good for much. It was on the second corner that things got interesting. Having bolstered up a good amount of speed (the speedometer said "0" but we were going at least 35) on the straightaway, I got the burb pointed straight as it came out of it's fifth spin. The loose snow in the ditch helped as did the big burch tree. Missing the corner was not as big a deal as Abby and the kids made it out to be. The farmers are nice around here and merely using his field as a turn around is not that big a deal. The fense is easily fixed but I don't know the replacement value of a milk cow. It was good we were on our way to church because I'm sure the Lord would like to hear Abby and the girls take back some things they said about their father.

As for other latest events, I suppose our cat story would make the list. We are on "round 2" of our cat project. The first two cats ran away (not a sad day for me). But, it was a sad day for the girls though the cats had only been with us for a matter of hours. Note to self: close doggie door.

Neither Ab or I like cats so why we're getting them for the kids I don't know. But, we did. We got a couple more from a friend and we're trying again. So far so good.

Another on the list is our latest snowshoeing adventure. We went up a little valley this weekend and hiked around. The girls had a lot of fun as did Denali. It was the first time for the girls. As usual, they were real troopers.

Things are going pretty well for us around here. To add to the scenery about 30 head of elk meandered a hundred yards from the house. It's fun to have a little wild life around. That's about all the news. I can't wait until tomorrow when we all try to get down the driveway. That reminds me, how much does a good milk cow cost anyway?

Hey Friends - I soooo enjoyed reading up on your new life there in MT and the pictures of the kids are precious. What a beautiful place you have! I have to say it made me smile (big) to hear you had a little trouble in the snow...a little out of practice are we? Well, I am thrilled to have this blog address and am going to "link up" right away! I will be checking regularly

It sure is great to see how you are all doing. We can't believe we are about to celebrate our gotcha day anniversary. We saw goose footprints at a pond last weekend and fondly recalled our lovely meal in the Chongqing underground. Ahh!
