Day 1 of our Colorado road trip

Today we left to head towards Denver and are spending the night in Casper WY tonight. It has been a pretty drive so far and we made it to the C'mon Inn here which the kids LOVE to stay in because of all the hot tubs and pools. I lost count of how many times Maddie asked "When are we going to get to the hotel?" At what age do kids actually enjoy looking at the scenery on a road trip and stop asking "When are we going to get there?" Just curious.....
Shortly before we crossed over into Wyoming we stopped at the monument to the Battle of Little Bighorn and General Custer's Last Stand against the Sioux Indians and Chief Sitting Bull. That was a neat historical place to see and it was amazing how many grave sites are there where the men actually fell in battle. Kiersten just finished studying Custer in school so she found this place especially interesting. It made me kind of sad to see how many Indians lives were taken at this place. Thornesses, next time you drive to North Dakota your boys would probably enjoy stopping by here (if you haven't already). Here are a few pics and it is 10:30 so I am going to call it a night!

The three girls standing on the actual hill, Custer's grave is right behind them. If you can enlarge these pictures, thought that this was a good quote from an Indian warrior.
