Successful Geocaching trip

Today we attempted our second geocaching hike. We decided to return to the same site that we didn't make it to last week due to the bear. I am happy to say that the bear was nowhere in site (I was watching! :) We found our first geocache under a tree that was struck by lightning several years ago. The girls thought it was cool to look at all the little treasures that were inside and leave something of our own. I forgot to take close up pics but there was all sorts of stuff in there ranging from a plastic replica of the Blues Brothers to pens, bouncy balls, etc..

The best thing about it was there was a little journal that had been there for over 3 years and everyone that visited the cache wrote a note in. It was kind of neat to read some of the entries and then leave our own. Here are some pictures. BTW, it was about a 3 mile hike and Malea walked on her own the majority of it, so we were happy that she appears to be a little hiker!

I love the look on Denali's face. She is obviously loving the reward at the end of the 3 mile hike. Bummers - The pix with the 4 girls could not be enlarged. We love to blow them up to look at faces. Love ya!
