Today was a pretty chillin' day. Kiersten and Maddie caught up on some school work (which they love doing in the hotel room - not so much!) We swam in the pool for a while and then for dinner found some pretty good American food. So, it was a good day! Elani tried icecream and pasta today so it is very exciting that she is expanding what she is willing to eat. As we get to know her better, she is showing more personality. She gave us lots of smiles today and one small fit. :) Right now she is still awake in her crib and singing at 10pm ( due to the icecream induced sugar high I am sure).

Shades and a bottle. The bottle is just easier for her to use because I don't really think she can create suction right now with her palate being open.

Marc bought himself swim goggles today, he wanted to be like the girls! He didn't grow up swimming like I did so I am proud of him for getting out there. According to him it is easier to hold your breath underwater with goggles on. Not sure how that works but it the girls were thrilled he was out there.

Girls in their traditional dresses. They were trying to teach Elani how to "pose".
Tomorrow we go to the US Embassy to take our Oath of Adoption. Can't wait to come home. Friday night we fly to Beijing and then home on Saturday! Woo hoo!!
PS: A couple people expressed interest in helping out Elani's orphanage, I am working on some ideas and will post when I find out something more. Thanks for your concerns.

From Noel--
Malea, I love the pictures you have sent. Could you touch in the pool? Elani is so cute. She is learning to eat different food alot. I will see you when you get home. You can come over to my house and play. Elani could come over too. Have a safe travel and I am praying to God for you. Love, Noel
Kaylee enjoyed catching up on the BLOG last night as part of her 30 minutes of reading for homework :). She says that we need to go adopt that little friend of Elani's, and all the other amazing kids that are in those cribs :). WOW, so very humbling, we'd love to help in whatever way possible. WE LOVE YOU GUYS, thanks for living a life that challenges us in our walk with CHRIST. Praying the last few days are such a blessing. LOVE the PIC of your BEAUTIFUL girls.

YAY~ I am glad that are some ways we can possibly help Elani's orphanage. Yesterday, I could not stop thinking about her "best friend" and the other boy in the background. It breaks my heart to think they are spending their days without love and without playing outside. We would love to help! Praying for your trip home. I love how God has already answered so many of your prayers. Elani is adjusting so well to her new sweet life and food! Luv U!
So glad you guys have been able to keep up on your blog. So neat to be able to pray for you according to your updates. What a blessing your family is to little Elani ... and her to you. I'm anxious to see how God uses her in the future. So thankful to see so many prayers being answered so obviously ... enjoy your last few days!
Love the pink sunglasses ... and, Marc, I'm proud of you for swimming! I totally understand your lack of enthusiasm for the pool ... :-)
